AnchorMan™
Designed for LAAC procedures
AnchorMan™, developed by MicroPort®, is designed for Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC) procedures to reduce stroke risk in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (AF). Non-valvular AF is a condition where the upper chambers of the heart beat irregularly, increasing the risk of blood clot formation.
Delivered via catheter, the AnchorMan device is placed at the opening of the left atrial appendage (LAA) to seal it off, preventing blood from pooling and forming clots that could lead to thromboembolism and stroke.
Its 160-micron PET membrane promotes endothelialization, the natural process where heart tissue grows over the device surface. This helps the device integrate into the heart, seals the LAA more effectively, and lowers the risk of clot formation.
Features
- Round distal end with unique "3D folding" design ensures safe delivery and enhances control
- Semi-closed design to fit varying patient LAA anatomy
- 160-micron PET membrane for accelerated endothelialization
- Twelve fixation anchors secure the device in place
- Inlaid threaded insert reduces metal exposure lowering risks of clot formation on the device itself
- Platinum radiopaque marker band for enhanced visibility under imaging
